The Abigail Adams Society is a movement rooted in remembrance, civic purpose, and national legacy. Inspired by Abigail Adams’ enduring belief in the power of “learned women,” the Society envisions a future where the contributions of women are central to the American story — honored in stone, in history, and in the national consciousness.
A visionary thinker, a trusted adviser, and an unwavering advocate for women, Abigail Adams helped shape the moral and intellectual foundation of the American republic.
The Abigail Adams Society honors her legacy by bringing together individuals who believe that stories like hers must be elevated, preserved, and boldly celebrated. Founded by the Adams Memorial Foundation, this giving circle recognizes and unites leaders, patriots, and philanthropists committed to lifting the voices of women in America’s past, present, and future.
Founding Members
We are building a national coalition of 250 Founding Members who share this vision, individuals who recognize that the legacy of women like Abigail Adams must be preserved and boldly celebrated for generations to come.
These Founding Members will be recognized as the first stewards of this movement. Their early support is launching the Abigail Adams Society and advancing the creation of the Adams Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Founding Member Recognition and Benefits
An exclusive, custom-designed brooch will be presented to each of the 250 Founding Members of the Abigail Adams Society. Only 250 will ever be issued, symbolizing the historic role each woman played in launching this national tribute to women's leadership and legacy.
While the specific on-site donor recognition plan will be worked out in collaboration with the National Park Service once the site and preliminary design of the memorial have been determined, each donor’s contribution will be honored in a meaningful way.
